Oscar Tshiebwe Signs New NIL Deal

Updated: Sep 29, 2022

What does Oscar Tshiebwe like more than winning basketball games? A good pepperoni pizza.

Oscar announced today that he has agreed to a partnership with Donatos Pizza, a pizza company based out of Columbus, Ohio. Donato's has nearly two-hundred locations in eleven states. Donato's has several locations in Kentucky including Lexington, Erlanger, Somerset, Bowling Green, Florence, Bellevue, Independence, Burlington, Ashland, and Owensboro.

Ever since the bill was passed that allowed college athletes to make money off of their name, image, and likeness (NIL), Oscar has struggled to be able to participate in partnerships like this one with Donatos. Oscar's F-1 student Visa didn't allow him to participate in "work" opportunities that involved his name, image, or likeness. That meant no commercials, no autograph signing sessions, no meet and greets, nothing. Although, he has been able to do some NIL opportunities in rare circumstances such as when the men's basketball team was in the Bahamas this summer and he was out of the country, which passes the legal requirements needed for NIL.

Since Oscar transferred from West Virginia to the University of Kentucky the Big Blue Nation has discovered what a gem he truly is. Oscar is an amazing person on and off of the court and nobody is more deserving to land NIL deals more than he is. The man stands in lines hours after a game just to meet his fans and that dedication is just one of the many reasons this fanbase likes him so much, both as a player and a person.
