Ray Davis Declares For The ‘24 NFL Draft

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

Just moments ago, Kentucky star running back Ray Davis made the decision that he is ready to take that next step in his football career. The one-year Wildcat announced through his social media that he will declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Ray Davis was only at Kentucky for one season but it was a successful one for the transfer from Vanderbilt. In 2023, Davis had 186 rushing attempts for over 1,000 yards and thirteen rushing touchdowns. He also had 29 receptions for over 300 yards and seven touchdowns for a combined 20 touchdown on the season, which broke former Kentucky running back Benny Snell's school record.

He also spent time at Temple University before transferring to Vanderbilt and overall between the three schools, Davis has had a very solid collegiate career and I don't blame him one bit for entering his name into the NFL Draft even though he did have one more year of eligibility left. This is the time to capitalize on his talents while they're peaking.

Kentucky fans should be thankful for the spectacular year that they got to witness in the talents of Ray Davis and that he decided to spend his final season of college here. The college star went out with a bang as Davis was able to find the endzone three times in Kentucky's thrilling 38-31 victory over Louisville this past Saturday. It is still unknown at this time if Ray Davis will compete in Kentucky's bowl game which is to be announced in the coming days.

For those of you who enjoy keeping up with the Wildcats in the NFL Draft this year, it will be held in Detroit, Michigan with the first round starting on Thursday, April 25th, and the second and third rounds will be on Friday the 26th. The fourth through the seventh rounds will be held on Saturday the 27th.

Good luck to Ray Davis as he progresses on into his professional career.
