Rhyne Howard Will Participate In The 2022 State Farm Three-Point Championship

Kentucky women's basketball legend, Rhyne Howard, will get to represent Kentucky once more as she has been selected to participate in the State Farm College Three-Point Championship this month.

Howard will be one of eight players listed on the Rocket Mortgage Women’s 3-Point Championship roster during the 33rd annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The event will be held on ESPN, on March 31st in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Xavier University of Louisiana’s Convocation Center. The broadcast is set to begin at 9 p.m.

It's an honor for Rhyne Howard to be selected for this event because only 24 invites are sent out to the nation's most elite men's and women's college basketball players for essentially a bragging rights type of weekend. Proving 'who's who' while competing against the best. It's also no surprise that she made it to this weekend, as she entered the NCAA Tournament as the only player in the nation with over 600+ points, 200+ rebounds, 100+ assists, 70+ steals and 35+ blocks this season. If Rhyne was to win her competition, she would then move on to compete in the State Farm Battle of the Champions round.

She's coming off an SEC Championship as well as the SEC Tournament MVP, scoring 88 points in UK's four games in Nashville, marking the third-most ever by a player in the tournament.

Flashing back to her final game inside Memorial Coliseum, she scored 32 points in the game, which is the most points ever by a Kentucky senior on Senior Day. Howard hit eight three-pointers in the game, which was also a new school record for three's made in a game. The eight three-pointers gave Howard 272 career made three-pointers, setting the UK record for most all-time.

Ending her Kentucky career, she ranked 15th in the nation in points per game for her senior season. Just a pure scorer who will have just a chance as anyone to win the whole thing. I know I'll be tuning in. Maybe she'll have Klay Thompson glued to the screen as well since he is one of her newest ambassadors.
