Roster Talk Begins As Kentucky's Season Comes To An End In The Second Round
Updated: Apr 5
Kentucky falls just a little short in the Round of 32, taking place in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Wildcats led for the majority of the game, but it just wasn't enough to contain the other Wildcats. The final score ended at 75-69, in which late game fouling pushed that difference a tad more than what it was.
As the offseason is now here, it's definitely premature to start announcing roster moves, but reporters decided to ask John Calipari what he thought the seniors on this roster would do this summer. "My guess is that they all will leave, but I haven’t talked to them (about it). I would guess that they would.”
You can listen to his full comments here.
While that's only Cal making an initial guess, no official decision has been made and it makes you wonder how different this roster will look in the coming months. There are a handful of guys who are likely to leave this offseason, and a few others could be added to this list.
It was at one time even speculated that Daimion Collins and Chris Livingston could be likely transfer candidates after the season due to separate reasons. That's just talk, and neither of the players have said a word on it. I now believe the Livingston rumors are no longer true as he started to find his role here as the season went on. Every summer, there's always that one player who exits the program that you are either confused to as why, or wished that they wouldn't have. This is just a guess, but I think Daimion might be that guy from this roster.
I think Cason Wallace is essentially a lock to leave as he is a projected first round draft pick. Oscar, I wouldn't be surprised if he went either way. I personally expect Sahvir Wheeler to transfer. The rest, I don't have a projection on yet. As I mentioned earlier, all offseason decisions are still to be determined and nothing is official just yet.
