Sahvir Wheeler Projected To Play vs. Providence

Kentucky's roster is getting closer to full strength at just the right time. Senior guard Sahvir Wheeler is expected to suit up for Friday's NCAA Tournament game against Providence. This will be Wheeler's first appearance in over a month. The news comes on the heels of some video showing Wheeler getting warmed up at shootarounds in Greensboro.

As you may expect, Wheeler's role in the game is likely to be minimal. His minutes had been going down significantly before the injury and he even lost his starting spot for the first time in his Kentucky career. Even with a lesser role, his presence in the game will be impactful as Coach Cal will finally have a second true point guard at his disposal. Cal has had to experiment with Antonio Reeves, CJ Fredrick, and even Jacob Toppin as primary ball handlers when Cason Wallace is out of games. With the Georgia transfers return, there is no question who the next man up is in that position.

Kentucky is 0-0 heading into this "new season" and are as healthy as they have been in a while. It's put up or shut up time for these Wildcats.
