To The “Fire Cal” Crowd

Well, last night was a doozy.

First and foremost, I’d do absolutely anything for our football program. What Mark Stoops has done is incredible. The 10-win seasons, beating Florida in the swamp, and recruiting players with talent Kentucky has almost never seen before. He inherited a high school football team and brought us to heights we haven’t been to. He is the best Kentucky football coach of all-time in my opinion and deserves a statue one day.

But, I am sick and tired of the John Calipari slander. We never give him the benefit of the doubt. This man absolutely revived Kentucky basketball in 2009 to a level we couldn’t have even imagined. Bringing in players like Boogie and John Wall to give us that swagger back. Hanging a banner in just his third year. Going to FOUR Final Fours in his first 6 seasons. If he did it once, he can do it again.

What Cal said is 100% correct and I am shocked at the ridiculous backlash he is receiving. He could have worded it better, for sure, but, everyone knows he didn’t want it to be blown up like this. We need the best facilities in the country. We are the University of Kentucky. If he leaves, we are only downgrading and you can’t convince me otherwise. I’m taking any and all suggestions on who we hire if we “fire Cal.” Mick Cronin? An unproven Nate Oats? Let’s be careful what we wish for.

Let’s start embracing this man and appreciate the impact he’s had on this program.
