Two former Cats make the All-Rookie Team

Tyler Herro and PJ Washington- one who was expected to be a multi-year guy at Kentucky that ended up getting drafted first round the following summer, and the other guy who was thought to be a one-and-done player that spent 2 years in Lexington, have just been named to the NBA All-Rookie Team.

Kentucky had three guys drafted in that 2019 class that each went out and started trying to build a life for themselves in the NBA. Keldon Johnson in San Antonio, PJ Washington in Miami, and PJ Washington in Charlotte. Keldon took a while to get things going, but finally got things going inside the Orlando bubble. For PJ and Tyler, things have been as hot as can be ever since they first laced up as a professional.

Tyler Herro is currently leading his team into the Eastern Conference Final, averaging 13.5 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 2.2 APG. He has made quite the connection with NBA All-star Jimmy Butler. Tyler Herro has been without a doubt, one of the top five best players in this years rookie class. It's a no brainer he's been grouped in this award.

For PJ Washington, I think people expected him to be just fine in the NBA, but not this fine. He's done an exceptional job for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 12.2 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 2.1 APG. PJ also has developed an outside game, making 86 three-pointers this season. He only made 38 in two seasons at Kentucky. The change in his game is surely showing off now.

Tyler Herro and PJ Washington both have been awarded into the All-Rookie Team, and seem to be panning out into household names inside the league.
