Two Kentucky Recruits Have Scheduled Upcoming Visits

Kentucky is expecting two big-time visitors in the coming weeks.

The last-known remaining Kentucky prospect of 2024, five-star Karter Knox, will be on an official visit this weekend. On February 3, class of 2025 five-star Meleek Thomas will be on his official visit to Kentucky. What could the Cats be getting with these two?

Karter Knox currently plays for RWE in the Overtime Elite league where he's teammates with 2024 four-star Kentucky commit, Somto Cyril. Knox is currently third in points at Overtime, averaging 21.2 points per game. He is an elite scorer with a high basketball IQ who can score on all three levels and defend multiple positions. An underrated part of his game is how well he rebounds the ball, as he averages 6.5 rebounds per game. Karter, as a guard at the two or three positions, could bring Kentucky’s highly-touted 2024 class to another level if he was to join it.

This will be Karter Knox’s second visit to Kentucky with his prior being at Big Blue Madness back in 2022. Even then, he was no stranger to John Calipari and the Kentucky program as his older brother, Kevin Knox, played for the 2017-18 team. This weekend, he will watch the 'Cats take on the Georgia Bulldogs at home.

Meleek Thomas is the #7 overall player in the 2025 class on ESPN. Thomas is an elite 6’4 CG making major waves this season. In his last game (on Jan. 17), he led Lincoln Park (PA) to a 102-57 victory where he almost put up a quadruple-double with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 9 steals, and 8 assists. That kind of stat line speaks for itself.

John Calipari must have been pleased on December 30 when he saw Meleek Thomas drop a triple-double, finishing the game with 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists! He has named a top-12 of Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Auburn, Indiana, UConn, Kansas, Villanova, Tennessee, Kansas State, Pitt, and Miami (FL). This will be his first official visit to Kentucky (Feb. 3) when the Tennessee Volunteers come to Rupp Arena on what should be an insane atmosphere.

Both recruits would be major contributors to John Calipari’s future teams. A commitment from Karter Knox would finish the 2024 recruiting class very strong while working toward a commitment from one of the top guards in Meleek Thomas would kick the 2025 class off right.
