UK Bahamas Trip Date Released

It's been four years since the Cats have last made the trip to the Bahamas to get some experience under their belts before the real season comes around. The team is only allowed to make the trip once every four years, and shockingly, that Tyler Herro team that went was in fact four seasons ago... Yeah, I'm wondering where the time went too.

We knew the trip would come late this summer, likely in August as it usually is, but the dates hadn't been announced yet.

Now, according to a report from Matt Jones, the official date for the Bahamas trip will take place August 8-14, just barely two months from now.

Players started arriving to campus this week, so I'm sure it's all finally settling in for them with games just right around the corner. We're approaching the unofficial start to the 2022-23 season!

The last time Kentucky went to the Bahamas, the defeated the Bahamas National Team, 85-61, followed by three more wins for the 4-0 sweep against San Lorenzo de Almagro (91-68), Mega Bemax (100-64) and Team Toronto (93-60) in Atlantis. Keep in mind, those were professional basketball teams.

Kentucky's schedule will be:

August 10th: vs. Republica Dominicana

August 11th: vs. Monterey Tech (Mexico)

August 13th: vs. Carlton University Ravens (Canada)

August 14th: Bahamas National Team

While we're suppose to be getting new jerseys this offseason, maybe will see UK break out the black ones again during the trip. One could only hope...
