UK Lands USC OT Transfer Courtland Ford

We got a little dice roll on Saturday evening as the Cats got a football commitment, per a report. KSR's Matt Jones broke the news on Twitter that USC transfer, Courtland Ford, has committed to Kentucky.

The offensive tackle has made 12 starts in his 20-game collegiate career and looks to add some more to that as another vital piece to UK's "Big Blue Wall" this year. He measures in at 6'6" and 305 pounds, so you know he's got the build to handle a SEC defense on a weekly basis.

Based out of Cedar Hill, Texas, the lineman had quite the senior year at Cedar Hill High School as he made the 2019 PrepStar All-Central Region, AP All-State 6A second team and All-District 7-6A first team. He was tabbed as a three-star and the 52nd best OT in the country as he entered college. He has spent three seasons as a Trojan and now looks to switch that shade of red to blue, blue, blue.

I expect Ford to be a starter this fall as he'll bring a lot of experience, size, and immediate impact on the offensive line to the roster. Of course the staff will say publicly he'll have to come here and earn it, which I'm sure holds some truth, but this offseason decision was targeted for a specific reason and that was to help fix what we saw last season. Will Levis got destroyed back there and they can't allow another quarterback to come in here and get beat up if they want to keep the trend of transforming this offense into one that passes first. They're adding multiple piece to the o-line to make this an intriguing place to come throw behind and protect Devin Leary through the long season.

Now we wait for the official announcement from the school and Courtland himself. Yahtzee.
