Wan’Dale Robinson Has Declared For The NFL Draft
Updated: Jan 15, 2022
Wan'Dale Robinson, the highly talented wideout transfer from Nebraska, and now the single season record holder for the most receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,334) for the University of Kentucky has reached a decision in regards to his future in football.
On Wednesday night, Wan'Dale announced that he will forego his senior year and declare for the NFL draft, which is April 28-30th 2022.
I know this is definitely not the news that we wanted to hear from the junior but you have to be thankful as a Wildcat fan to even have gotten the chance to see him in the blue and white. The selfish side of me wanted to have him back next year with Will Levis, also along side Barion Brown, Tayvion Robinson, and Dane Key, but I am happy for the young man and we shouldn't have been too surprised by this decision because of what a year he had and his incredible performance in the Citrus Bowl.
Vince Marrow said on Sunday that, “I’m very close to his family. We will talk. From what Wan’Dale’s telling me, if he has a good scoring grade from first, second or third rounds, he would more than likely go to the Draft. If not, then I think he’ll come back. But let’s be honest. After that last chant in the stadium, he could probably get over a $1 million NIL deal. Those people really want him back, but he’s going to do what’s best for him and his family.”
I suppose the idea of a 7 figure NIL deal wasn't enough for Robinson to consider coming back to UK and honestly if he is taken in either the second or third rounds then he will make that roughly on a signing bonus alone, not to mention his salary. Good luck to you Mr. Robinson from everyone in the Big Blue Nation.
