Kentucky's starting backcourt took a beating down in Knoxville on Tuesday night, with Sahvir Wheeler injuring his wrist and TyTy Washington re-aggravating his ankle.
Kentucky released a statement saying, "TyTy Washington Jr. is out with a lower leg injury. Sahvir Wheeler is out with a right upper extremity injury. Both are day-to-day."
TyTy Washington has now missed two full games, one versus Mississippi State and the other versus Alabama in Lexington, as well as, didn't play complete games versus Auburn (9 minutes played), Florida (26 minutes played), and Tennessee (12 minutes played). Sahvir Wheeler has missed the entirety of the Georgia game, at Vanderbilt game, versus Alabama, and only played four minutes at LSU.
Being without your backcourt would nearly kill any team in the country, but on Saturday Kentucky was tested to their first full game without the both of them playing and credit to them, they stepped up to the challenge. The Cats pulled out a top twenty-five win over Alabama at home.
It's good to be happy to see that they can face adversity and win games without the two, but it won't be the favored recipe for winning many games going forward. Lets get them back healthy as soon as possible.
