WBB: Kentucky Lands Two SEC Transfers

After losing many key players to graduation and the transfer portal, Kyra Elzy and her staff have landed two transfers from inside the conference. Eniya Russell and Ajae Petty were both announced as new members of the BBN earlier today.

Eniya Russell comes from the reigning national champions, South Carolina. The 6’1 guard does bring some experience from her time in Columbia as she played a fair amount of minutes throughout her time with the Gamecocks. Russell certainly brings potential to the table as she was a McDonald’s All-American and a top-50 recruit coming out of high school.

Ajae Petty is joining the Wildcats as well after her run in Baton Rouge with LSU. Petty played sparingly throughout her two seasons with the Tigers, but she does have untapped potential as she was a four-star recruit coming out of high school.

With Rhyne Howard gone and the traces of Matthew Mitchell leaving the program, a new era of Kentucky women’s basketball is here. If they can meet their potential, these two new transfers could play a big role in making this new era a huge success for Kyra Elzy.
