WBB: Ladies Look For Monumental Upset Sunday

After a big time upset Thursday night against #15 Georgia, the ladies look for another upset this Sunday against #1 South Carolina. South Carolina has one hiccup on the season coming to Missouri 70-69. Other than that, they have knocked off 7 ranked opponents on the season and they look to add to that number.

UK cannot be overlooked; the lady cats are well rested after a long Covid break and just knocked off a solid Georgia squad at home. This game will be played in SC but Rhyne Howard is coming off her best performance of the season, where she had 30 points on 12-20 shooting. Jada Walker shot 3-4 from three and looks to continue this type of hot shooting if Kentucky is going to pull off the upset.

South Carolina is deserving of the #1 spot and they win in multiple ways. They have defense, they hit shots, and they play disciplined basketball. Aliyah Boston is on star watch averaging 17.1 ppg and 11.1 rpg. As a team, they shoot 44% from the field and hold their opponents to only 34% as well as only 27% from three. They also out rebound opponents 46-29 which is a key factor in their wins.

South Carolina leads the all-time matchup vs UK 26-15

Kentucky looks to pull the upset January 8th, at 1:00 P.M. EST so make sure to tune in!
