WBB: Rhyne Howard Continues to Pile Up Accolades

The motto that Kentucky has used to honor star senior Rhyne Howard this season has been “crown her”. Not only did BBN show off their crowns in honor of Howard on senior day, but national media is crowning her with the accolades she deserves.

As the NCAA tournament approaches, the Associated Press has released their All-Americans for men’s and women’s basketball. For the third consecutive season, Rhyne Howard has been named as an AP All-American. Howard is the first player in Kentucky basketball history to accomplish this feat.

Not only is Howard receiving this accomplishment historically significant for Kentucky standards, it is extremely impressive within women’s college basketball as a whole. With Howard being named an All-American this season, she became the ninth player in women’s basketball history to be named an All-American three times in their career. She joins legends such as Maya Moore, A’ja Wilson, Brittney Griner, and Breanna Stewart to achieve such a feat.
