WBB: Two Wildcats Receive All-SEC Honors

With the regular season in the books and the SEC tournament set to tip-off tomorrow, the SEC has announced the All-SEC teams for the conferences‘s top performers of the season.

Jada Walker was named to the All-Freshman team. The 5’7” guard from Richmond, VA started the season on the bench, but played her way into a starting role as the season went on. She averaged 10.4 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 2 APG on the season and was the instigator of many Kentucky fast-break opportunities with her lighting quick feet and elite ball-handling skills. BBN can expect Walker to continue to grow throughout the years.

The least shocking news you’ll hear today is that Rhyne Howard was named to the All-SEC first team. This marks the fourth-consecutive season that Howard has received this honor. She averaged 20.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 3.3 APG this season and closed out her home career with a 32-point performance on Sunday afternoon. Howard’s accolades are probably not finished as more and more postseason awards are announced. The star senior will go down as one of the most acclaimed players in UK athletics history.
