Week 3 Depth Chart

It's Monday, and Kentucky is coming off their first win of the season as defeating Mississippi State on Saturday evening, 24-2.

Mark Stoops met with the media for his weekly press conference as his team gets prepared to travel down to Knoxville this weekend to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.

Week 3 Depth Chart:

My takeaways from this weeks depth chart are:

  1. Josh Paschal is listed on this weeks depth chart after exiting the Mississippi State game with a knee injury, and Stoops says he expects him to return this week for the Tennessee game.

  2. Akeem Hayes is on the depth chart this week, after expressing mixed emotions on Twitter shortly after Kentucky's win.

  3. Joey Gatewood continues to be back-up quarterback, and this week could be a good chance for him to get more reps. I like the Tennessee game for Gatewood to come in some, because this game could go either way. If Kentucky gets destroyed, there's no reason to not let Joey Gatewood have a shot. If Kentucky has a close game and Terry Wilson seems to be struggling, these rivalry games are the perfect scenario for Stoops to put Gatewood in and say, "Win us this game." You can tell what players are made of in those type of moments.

Kentucky (1-2) will face Tennessee (2-1) this Saturday, Oct. 17, at Noon.
