As UK quarterback, Will Levis, enters his second season at Kentucky, it's time for him to start living like one. The Massachusetts native is knee deep in horse country and his newest NIL deal seems like a match made in heaven.
The football team captain has just signed a name, image and likeness deal with Claiborne Farm, located in Paris, Kentucky. It becomes the first NIL deal paired between a D1 collegiate athlete and a thoroughbred horse farm ever. "We are thrilled to be the first farm to partner with a Division 1 athlete in this newly created NIL space. Having a star quarterback help promote one of our young and promising stallions is a new way of advertising that we think provides a perfect synergy of our brand. Will's athleticism and performance displayed on the football field mirrors what we saw with War of Will on the racetrack and is the reason he is such an exciting stallion prospect," said the President of Claiborne Farms, Walker Hancock.
Horse racing is a multi-billion dollar industry all across the world and Kentucky is the center face of it all. One thing that Kentucky citizens care about as much (sometimes more) as their horse racing? Their University of Kentucky athletics. So this seems like a no-brainer that it happened. This enters the levels of very interesting and unique endorsement deals that will carry on into the future and it's neat that Kentucky gets to make its stamp in the industry first.
Will Levis, meet War of Will.
