Jacquez Jones Officially Declares For The NFL Draft

Just about an hour after the TransPerfect Music City Bowl concluded, Kentucky "super senior" Jacquez Jones announced that he was moving on in his football career.

The former Ole Miss transfer turned Kentucky fan-favorite was a major part of Brad White's elite defense this season. Jacquez's 37 tackles in just seven games this season was a phenomenal contribution to what they were able to accomplish and I can only imagine what that could've been had he remained healthy all season long.

His five year collegiate career resulted in 305 tackles, 130 which were solo and 175 that were assisted, including 4 sacks overall. In his two seasons as a Wildcat, his career best year was the first round in Lexington, recording 86 tackles (2021-22) and ultimately finishing with 123 in total (2 seasons).

Jacquez was a player who came in highly touted, performed up to the expectations, and put in the extra effort to embrace the fans and become a favorite across the whole program. His time here will be reflected on very positively, and I don't feel alone in wishing we had one more year in him. Good luck to him as he enters the NFL ranks.
