Another Kentucky Wildcat enters his name into the transfer portal. John Young, a 6'6" and three-hundred-pound offensive lineman from Louisville, Kentucky, has entered his name into the college football transfer portal. Young played high school football at the Christian Academy of Louisville and was a Class of 2019 commit to the University of Kentucky.
Young was a 4-Star prospect and was ranked 373rd nationally and the 3rd-best player overall in the state of Kentucky in 2019. Besides Kentucky, Young was offered scholarships from Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Oregon, Ole Miss, Ohio State and Michigan, among many others. Young will have two years of eligibility left, including the COVID year, wherever he chooses to continue this collegiate career.
As a redshirt Freshman in 2021, Young played in all twelve regular season games, as well as the bowl game against Iowa. Young was also on the field for the special teams unit. Kentucky's offensive line struggled this season and this loss will hurt as well. Best of luck to John Young in his future endeavors.
