Dekel Crowdus Arrested Early Sunday Morning

Lexington native and UK wide receiver, Dekel Crowdus, was arrested early this Sunday morning. The news was first reported by On3. Crowdus was placed under arrest by the University of Kentucky Police Department and was charged with driving under the influence, drug possession, and careless driving, according to Lexington Police records.

According to the arrest record, Crowdus' blood alcohol level was at a .074 at the time of the arrest. Since he was arrested by the University of Kentucky Police, that would indicate that he was either on or near Kentucky's campus. Crowdus has since been released and according to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Community Corrections website, the report was amended later in the day to remove the three previously listed offenses but still showed Crowdus' arrest and booking date.

The University of Kentucky or anyone from the Kentucky Football staff have not issued a statement on the issue and Dekel's status for the 2023 season remains to be seen as of right now. Behind both Dane Key and Barion Brown, Crowdus was expected to be the third option for Devin Leary and the Wildcat's offense this year.
