Kentucky Baseball Releases 2024 SEC Schedule

Fresh off of one of the most impressive seasons in school history, a 40-21 record and just the second Regional Championship in school history, we now have our eyes set on the upcoming season. Unfortunately, that's how things seem to be going nowadays. Life moves really fast and before you know it, it's time to do it all over again. Thankfully, this is regarding UK Athletics and that's something that we don't have to force ourselves into doing, it just comes easy. This afternoon, the UK baseball program announced what will be their conference opponents on the 2024 schedule.

The Cats will start the SEC slate off at Missouri from March 22-24 before heading down to Ole Miss the following weekend (29-31) to get things started off. After that, they will host their first home (SEC) series against Alabama from April 5-7 which will be followed by a trip to the state of Alabama, but to face the Auburn Tigers during the weekend of April 12-14. They'll continue conference play at home against Tennessee from April 19-21 then will indulge in a trip to Colombia, South Carolina for another road series during the 26-28 to end the month.

To cap off conference play and the month of May, the Bat Cats will participate in three more series with Arkansas (May 3-5) at home, at Florida from the 10-12, and finally versus Vanderbilt at home, from the 16-18.

We're all aware that the Southeastern Conference continues its dominance into the sport of baseball as well. Four of Kentucky's scheduled opponents during conference play reached the Super Regionals just last season. Following the regular season SEC play, the official SEC Tournament will take place in Hoover, Alabama from May 21-26.

Coach Mingione looks to continue on from a successful season last year and hopefully make some noise once again. I must admit, last year was super fun latching onto that team and their impressive streaks of wins they put together in the first two months. I hope they can produce at least half of that success and it will be another fun ride.

The program also mentioned that the rest of the schedule that includes non-conference play will be released at a later date to the public.
