Kentucky Baseball Sweeps #25 Georgia This Weekend

The Bat Cats extend their winning streak to five games in a row now as they complete the series sweep against the number twenty-five ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Kentucky now moves to 17-3 on the season and 3-0 in the SEC. Their only losses have come at the hands of Washington State at the Karbach Round Rock Classic and two losses to Kennesaw State.

These three losses were definitely of some concern due to the fact of how bad the Wildcats were outscored. The loss to Washington State wasn't the worst but the two losses to Kennesaw State came as Kentucky was outscored 23-3 in those two games. Now, if you look at Kennesaw State's record of 10-9 you might get a little worried about those losses but that team did manage to get an impressive win against a top-10 Clemson team as well, so they are better than their record may show. Over the last five wins for Kentucky, they have managed to outscore their opponents 52-23 which is quite impressive.

This weekend the bats were definitely hot as the Wildcats managed to get 38 hits off of the Bulldogs. Today, infielder graduate transfer Ryan Nicholson managed two home runs out of three at-bats.

Kentucky takes on the Evansville Aces this coming Tuesday starting at 6:30 pm EST with the broadcast being on the SEC Network+ stream. Then the following weekend the they'll be on the road as they take on a three-game series in Columbia, Missouri against the Mizzou Tigers. The Tigers are currently 9-10 on the season an 0-2 in conference play so this would be a good opportunity for Kentucky to keep moving up the SEC standings.
