The Cats get their first win of the season with a dominant performance over Robert Morris, winning 100-60. If you did nothing more than just watch the game, you can tell how impressive our team played, both as a whole and as individual players. A deeper dive into some stats further demonstrates just how impressive the Cats played last night.

#1 - Oscar Tshiebwe 20 Rebounds

Oscar’s 20 rebounds is 1 short of a Rupp Arena record for most rebounds in a single game played in the stadium. It is not every day we see a performance of this magnitude. It is even more rare to see such numbers get put up so casually because of how routine he made it look. Oscar also broke the Kentucky record, previously held by Wildcat legend Dan Issel, for the most rebounds through their first two games playing for Kentucky (40). I doubt these will be the last rebounding records Oscar sets this season.

#2 - Sahvir Wheeler 12 Assists

We have seen Wheeler put up large assist totals before. But what we have not seen from him is to do it as efficiently as he did last night. Wheeler put up 12 assists without committing a single turnover. Our team as a whole put up 100 points on 24 assists, to only 8 turnovers. Continuing this high production with high efficiency will make us one of the most elite offenses in the country.

#3 - Kentucky Shoots 52.2% From 3

I was very impressed with how we shot the ball against Duke, making 7 of our 18 attempts, a 38.9% clip. They completely one up’ed themselves by making 12 of their 23 attempts. I never thought I would see the day where Coach Cal lets his offense shoot this many three pointers. But if we are going to continue to make them at this clip, I do not see Cal going away from it at any time.
